Search Tips

When you select a discipline, your search is limited to that particular termbank.

If a discipline is not selected, the whole TermFinder database is searched for your query.

Use wildcards in the search string:

•the asterisk (*) wildcard searches for a sequence of 0 or more characters in a string; Ex: am*ba finds ameba or amoeba

•the underscore (_) wildcard searches for exactly 1 character in a string; Ex: c_ll finds cell or call

•wildcards can be used for browsing; Ex: c* finds all the words starting with c

Definition: an organism that lives in or off another organism, obtaining nourishment and protection while offering no benefit in return
Example:
1. In many growing areas of NSW and Queensland, oysters are being killed by an infectious parasite that causes lethal QX disease.

2. This testing will provide detailed information about the distribution of the parasite and enable it to be more effectively managed.
